USB2 is a great solution for digital
microscope cameras because it provides
true plug and play installation. This means your new PAXcam
is up and running in minutes.
Most new computers now come
delivered with USB2 (universal serial bus version 2), so
they require no additional hardware in order to make the
connection. If you have a computer that does not have USB2
included, no problem. PAXcam comes complete with a simple
interface board that will easily install right into an
empty slot in your PC.
Another advantage of USB2
is that it is faster than SCSI and firewire IEEE 1394 interfaces.
This means that your PAXcam can give you the best video frame
rates and larger preview screens while you focus, and
capture images up to 480 Mbits per second. USB2 will also
supply power for the PAXcam2 and PAXcam3 USB2 microscope
cameras so that a single cable will connect the digital camera
to the computer. A separate power supply is shipped with
the PAXcam ARC.
USB2
also allows multiple USB microscope cameras to connect into
a computer or USB2 hub. Have a laptop instead of a desktop
computer? USB2 will allow you to connect the PAXcam, or multiple
PAXcams, to a laptop for a simple portable solution.
Connecting
a PAXcam microscope camera to a USB2 port is easy… it
is impossible to plug a USB2 connector in incorrectly. You
are literally up and running in minutes and on your way to
taking stunning images for reports, presentations, measurements,
image analysis, archiving, and communication.
Whether your application is quality control work in an industrial setting, pathology
or other biomedical labwork, forensics, education, macro or micro, or other applications
in science and industry, check out the advantages of the latest USB2 technology
and let the PAXcam work for you. USB2 is supported in Windows 98SE, Windows ME,
Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
